If you wonder how you can change your life with just one thing here is the secret. Don’t lie. I mean it. More importantly, don’t lie to yourself.
If you can’t identify the last time you told a lie dig deeper into yourself. When is the last time you did something you knew in your bones was not what you wanted to do? This can happen in many areas in our lives unconsciously, because we have been telling ourselves the same lie over and over again or because it simply is going on for so long already that we identify it with the truth.
Maybe you are in a relationship that is going anywhere but you are hanging on to it because you are scared to be alone. Maybe your job makes you miserable, but you can’t quit because you need the money. Maybe you have witnessed impropriate behavior but haven’t felt confident to speak up.
Do YOU
Whatever your lie might be, the first step is to identify it. It might be that you are settling for something because you don’t know what greater things are out there waiting for you. But let me tell you something: following YOUR truth is something you are never going to regret.
Forget about what everybody else thinks should make you happy. You have the right to establish your own set of values and live by them.
The greatest regret you will have is not the things you did, but the ones you didn’t do. The ones that you are now too scared to tackle or too scared to handle the consequences.
Identify your lie and then visualize how you would live by it if you were to follow your truth, your value and seek happiness. I assure you that this path might probably come with some resistance from your environment because they are not used to your new you yet. But lying to yourself is also lying to the people around you about your true self. If you won’t speak up for yourself and your dreams, nobody will.
You got this.
